Rev. Donny Friederichsen - Senior Pastor

Pastor Donny Friederichsen is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary. Pastor Donny has been the pastor of Lakeside since 2020. Originally from Chattanooga, TN, Donny has served in ministry in Belarus, Kentucky, Florida, the Bahamas, New Jersey, and now Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando. He is a frequent contributor to Ligonier’s Tabletalk, the Gospel Reformation Network, and Reformation 21. He serves on the General Council of the Gospel Reformation Network and trains a growing network of Reformed and Presbyterian house church leaders in a large east Asian country. Donny is married to Kim, and they have four children.

Paul Thompson - Music Director

Paul Thompson is an award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator for movies, television, and musical theater. He started his musical journey as a singer and pianist in his father's churches where he and his four older siblings were often called on to provide special music. In 2017, Paul started his own company, House of El Music, writing custom scores for albums, theater, movies, and live events. When not writing music, Paul enjoys baking bread, reading books, and trying new restaurants.

Joseph Alcazar - Director of Student and Family Ministries

Joseph Alcazar is a current student at Reformed Theological Seminary working on his Master’s in Divinity. He is a graduate from Dallas Baptist University in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (BA ‘22). Him and his wife, Sofia, have one daughter, Lily Joy. He is a book worm, self-proclaimed master of board games, and a consumer of his wife’s baking. Education is his passion and he loves to coach high school and collegiate debate. Joseph has attended Lakeside since 2007 and now leads our Youth Ministry.

Sofia Alcazar - Office administrator

Sofia is currently pursuing her Master’s in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and intends to gain licensing to open her own counseling practice. She is married to Joseph and has one amazing daughter, Lily Joy. In between changing diapers and snuggling her baby, she can be found experimenting with coffee beans and baking.

Rachel Stillwell - Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Rachel Stillwell is a 4th-grade teacher and mom to 3 amazing little boys. She has a huge heart for special needs ministry and reaching those kids and parents.

Rebekah Beard - Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Rebekah is a middle school teacher who also leads our Vacation Bible School each summer. She spent 10 years with Kids Across America and Summer's Best Two Weeks: Citikids. These are Christian Sports Camps for urban youth. She has worked for years with our covenant children at Lakeside, including directing our children's Sunday School program. She loves her work with children and youth and cannot imagine doing anything else.

Margaret Harper - Organist

Margaret became the organist at Lakeside in 2008. As a teenager, she played the organ at her church in Alpine. She feels blessed to serve the Lord again through music after 40 years of what she calls her "musical desert." Margaret & her husband Tim have been married for 50 years. They have three children and three amazing grandsons.

Reverend David Boxerman - Pastor Emeritus

David Boxerman served as the Senior Pastor of Lakeside PCA for over 22 years. Upon his honorable retirement from full-time pastoral ministry in 2020, he was honored as Pastor Emeritus at Lakeside.

Yoanna Thompson - Women's Ministry Coordinator

Yoanna Thompson has led women’s ministries and taught women’s bible studies for over a decade and has a passion for encouraging others to grow in Christ. She is dedicated to homeschooling her children as well as teaching Old and New Testament Survey at Arrow Christian Academy. She holds a B.A. in Professional Writing from Baylor University and a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California. She is married to Elder Ben Thompson and has two kids, Isabella and Isaac.
